A Visit From Our Favorite Aunt Janet

Kenny's Aunt Janet came into town this past week with her former middle school students (she retired this past summer.) She was able to be a chaperon for one last time as the kids did a 3 day tour of DC. It's been almost a year since we last saw Aunt Janet and so the kids were really, really excited to see her. Originally we were going to go in the city and spend some time with her, but with all the kids I have, with Sarah Kate in school, and with Janet's schedule it didn't work out. Instead of going into the city, Janet came down Thursday night with her son Kyle (he lives in Alexandria, just north of here) and took us to dinner. She told us to choose a place the kids would like, so we all met at Pizza Buffet. It was great fun seeing her and she seemed as happy to see us. Sarah Kate, of course, had to sit by Aunt Janet and tell her everything she's learned in school and show her anything she could think of. Ben had to sit by Kyle (Ben's a really big fan of Kyle who watched our kids for us while we were having Gracie) and poor Kyle had to listen to Star Wars and Transformer talk all night. He was a good sport and I get the feeling he likes Ben as well. Our kids were in heaven and did a lot of showing off.

The kids with Kyle at dinner. We love having visitors and going to Pizza Buffet. Doing both at the same time made for a wonderful evening.

Walking back to the car after dinner. Luckily for Janet the weather was very nice the entire time she was here.

After a yummy dinner we all came back to our house and kept Janet and Kyle out way longer than we should have. The kids did more showing off, some dancing, and even more storytelling and then it was time to put them to bed. Once in bed the adults got to catch up on life and just be adults (I think that was nicer for me than anyone else there.) It was very nice to have family over. We don't get that very often out here and even though it was just for a short time, it was a wonderful uplifting evening, just like visits with Janet always are. We can't wait to see her and all the rest of the Holderness clan next month on the cruise.

Janet holding baby Grace. It was the first time Janet had seen her, and Janet commented on how much she looks like Hannah. Gracie really liked Janet and any attention she got.

Spending time with the two older girls! Janet was great to listen to stories even if they came from Hannah and she couldn't understand what Hannah was saying.

K I S E N G

Sarah Kate came in the kitchen while I was finishing the cookies and she was singing a song under her breathe. She asked me what K I S E N G spelled. I asked her where she heard it and she told me that some of the kids in her class were making fun of her and Jaylen because they were in LOVE. I sang her the "sitting in a tree song" and asked her if that was what they were singing. Apparently, the beginning of the song, up to the K I S S I N G part, is the only part these kindergartners knows. She thought my version was very funny. I told her they were saying K I S S I N G and told her it spelled kissing. She's only in first grade and the LOVE talk has already started. I have a feeling she's going to be very popular and have no problems finding boys that like her. Then again, I already knew that.

My (Ben) Birthday

I wasn't going to write anything about my birthday because not much happened, but I have to write about what a wonderful, caring boy I have. It all started on Tuesday when Ben was trying to figure out what I wanted for my birthday.

Ben: Mommy what do you want for your birthday?
Me: I don't know buddy.
Ben: How about a Star Wars toy?
Me: Do you think I would like a Star Wars toy.
Ben: Yeah! Which one do you want? The Battle Droid? (That's the one Ben currently really really wants.)
Me: I don't know Bud. Daddy got a Star Wars toy for his birthday.
Ben: I know, you want the Battle Droid and when Obi-Won fights Darth Vader. That's what you want Mom.

After a little more discussion it was determined that that was what I really wanted for my birthday and that I would have a lot of fun playing with them. That night there was another discussion. This one involving transformers, but luckily it was determined that Star Wars toys were the way to go.

When Daddy got home at about 8:30 Ben had to tell him what I wanted for my birthday. While Daddy was in Ben and Sarah's room 'talking' to them he gave them the shirt and shorts he had bought for me. He had stopped at REI on his way home and gotten me something. I was shocked and surprisingly it was maybe even a better gift then the Star Wars toys (don't tell Ben though.)

The next day, my actual birthday, Ben remembered first thing when he got up to give me a hug and a kiss and tell me Happy Birthday, just like he said he would. The day was beautiful with the weather in the upper 60's to low 70's. I took the three little kids to the park to play with some friends while Sarah Kate was in school. In the car on the way home I told Ben we needed to go home to eat lunch. This led to a talk about where we were going for my birthday dinner. You guessed it, Chuck E Cheese's. What Mom doesn't want to go there for her birthday. There was also the issue of my cake.

Ben: Mom what kind of a cake are you going to make for yourself?
Me: I was thinking of making an apple cobbler instead of a cake.
Ben: No Mom! You want a cake. Guess which cake you want.
Me: A princess cake?
Ben: Nope.
Me: A Teddy bear cake, a Dora cake, a firefighter cake?
Ben: Nope, Nope, Nope.
Me: A Diego cake?
Ben: Yeah! That's it!

So my birthday was all mapped out. I was getting the Battle Droid and when Obi-Won fights Darth Vader. I was eating dinner at Chuck E Cheese's and I was making myself a Diego cake. Ben was so excited and he really thought that would be perfect for me. He was so cute planning my whole day and getting all excited about how much fun I would have. Even though they were all Ben's favorite things he was sure I would enjoy them also. I felt kind of bad when nothing happened.

That evening when we came in from playing at 7:30 and Ben said, "Mom, we have two problems. We didn't have any presents for you birthday or any wrapping presents or any cake." (Actually that's three problems, but when you're 4 the presents thing is one problem.) I replied by saying, "I know buddy. Daddy has another late night at work. We'll have to do it another day." This made him content for the time.

When we woke up this morning he came and got in bed with me. When Kenny got out of the shower Ben said, "Daddy, are you home today? We have two problems. We didn't have any presents or any wrapping of presents or any cake for Mom. We need to do it today." He's obviously very concerned for me. One day he'll understand that Mommy's and Daddy's don't have birthday's like kids do. In the mean time it has reminded me just how caring my little boy is and he sure maybe me feel special. What a lucky Mom I am.

Happy Easter

Well, another Easter has come and gone. Even though we had a great Easter I didn't get to do all that I wanted to. I'm sure my kids won't look back on their childhood and feel deprived or anything, I just had more planned than we had time to do. The kids woke up in the morning to find that the Easter Bunny had brought them Easter Eggs filled with candy and some small outdoor toys like a catch game (for Ben), gardening tools (for Sarah), and sand toys (for Hannah). Gracie was the only one without an outdoor toy. She got a little stuffed lamb that she can chew on. We had a little miny Easter Egg hunt around the living room. This time Hannah knew what to do, but she also knew that the eggs were full of stuff so she didn't find many. She was too busy opening them up and eating what was inside.

Gracie with her lamb.

After our Easter Bunny morning, it was time to get ready for church. I decided to buy Easter clothes this year and found a nice shirt for Ben and three cute little flowery dresses for the girls. I originally wanted all three girls to have the same dress, but I couldn't find one in Gracie's size. Luckily I found one that was close enough. Mommy, Sarah, and Hannah all had matching hair and everyone looked so cute for church. I had these images of a cute picture of all my kids looking so nice in their Easter clothes. I should have been smart and taken the picture before church, but I didn't and when we got home, no one was cooperating and Hannah's hair was falling out. I managed to get individual pictures of the kids being goofy and in Hannah's case a complete stinker. Still the clothes were cute. Maybe we'll recreate Easter next Sunday for a picture.

I'm looking forward to the time when I can go to church and listen and learn again. I realize I'm still a long way's away from this, but I can still dream. Ben managed to learn a little in sunbeam, however. When I went to pick him up he told me that he wasn't going to stay dead forever because of Jesus. He was very happy to have that knowledge. I'm sure he doesn't understand fully the story of Easter, but he knows he gets to come back alive and I think the lessons on heaven and family that we've had may make a little more sense now. It's nice when something finally sticks.

That night we had a nice dinner of ham, funeral potatoes (I know a weird thing for Easter Sunday, but I just love those potatoes) and deviled eggs (a must on Easter) Right before dinner the kids got to color eggs. Though we had wanted to color them on a day other than Easter, I was determined not to color them after Easter like we did last year. Because we didn't get to them on Saturday, it left Easter Sunday. I was a nice activity to keep the kids entertained while I tried to cook dinner.

Hannah had fun dying her eggs and then cracking them open, peeling them, and then dying the inside. That way you get twice as many eggs then you were given. Sarah Kate was very particular with her eggs this year. I can see her growing up in the things that she does. She softly put them in the dye and was careful which colors matched with which colors and was very much into using the little egg holder spoon thingy that comes with the eggs.

BenBen was very quick. He put each of his 10 of his eggs in a different color and told me he was done. I had to show him that you can use more than one color and that you need to turn the egg to color all the sides. He really liked writing on the egg with the invisible crayon and watching his name appear.

Easter Egg Hunt

I realized when I shot this picture that I was shooting it into the sun, but with Gracie strapped to me and all the people around, it was the best I could do. They still look cute and excited (well Ben and Sarah look excited, Hannah looks a little confused.)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Ours was very busy with fun activities, cute dresses, and even a little learning. The Saturday before Easter weekend they had an Easter Egg hunt at the shopping center where we do karate. The kids walk around to the various store and get candy, it's loads of fun. They've always held it from 12:00 to 2:00 so at about 1:15 we took the kids down only to discover it had been from 11:00-1:00 and we missed it. The kids were very disappointed to say the least. It turned out OK though. The community we live in does a real Easter Egg hunt the Saturday before Easter (I was very happily surprised to see that it was held on Saturday instead of Sunday which is when they typically do things out here.) I signed the kids up and first thing Saturday morning we took of to the Easter Egg hunt.

Ben"hunting" for eggs.

I was single parenting again (Kenny has been doing a huge amount of overtime getting ready for a deadline this Friday) which would have been OK, but the kids were split up into groups by age and it just so happened that all three kids were in different groups. I, of course, had to take Hannah, which left Ben and Sarah to go on their own. Sarah didn't mind, but Ben was not very excited about going at it alone. I told him he could go with his group or he could stay with Sarah and go with the big kids. He chose to stay with Sarah, meaning he was in the area where the eggs were hidden the hardest. This meant he didn't get very many eggs. It was OK though, he had a lot of fun anyway, and there was a very nice boy who gave Ben one of his eggs because Ben didn't have very many.

Hannah finding an egg.

Hannah didn't understand what was going on at first. She was amazed by all the kids and I could tell she thought it was strange that I was asking her to pick up eggs and put them in her bucket. We probably should have prepped her a little better before going. She did very well once she got the hang of it once she stopped looking for Sarah and Ben.

Sarah searching the leaves for eggs. She just wouldn't give up and I had to practically drag her back to the car.

The kids had a lot of fun and luckily didn't get too many eggs. Sarah was a little disappointed, but then I reminded her how much fun she had, that she got the most eggs out of the family, and just how many kids there were and she decided it was OK. I think we may do it next year, only this time we'll take Daddy for help.

This is my kids being super cooperative for a picture.

Hannah's Birthday Blogs

I finally got Hannah's blogs all written. I've been having some technical difficulties with the computer and the video camera, mainly the computer crashes when I try to capture any video, but luckily I got it figured out. Hannah's birthday blogs are like the others. Start at the bottom, 'Banana's Birthday' and work you way up. Hopefully the video will work! Oh, I feel I must apologize for the pathetic cropping of the video. After all the crashing problems, I just wanted to get the video done. Enjoy reading and Happy Birthday Hannah.

The Last Cake For 7 Months

With this cake I learned that while I can make decent looking cakes, I cannot write on them. Maybe I'll have to work on that, or maybe I'll just never write on a cake again. :)

Yeah! Three cakes later and I'm done for 7 months. Boy am I glad Gracie was born in October rather than January, February, or March like the rest of us. Hannah's cake was very simple, for a simple 2 year old girl. I made her the same little Teddy Bear cake I made for Sarah Kate when she turned 1. Looking back at the pictures it's amazing how much they look alike even with the year difference. The important part is that Hannah seemed impressed with her cake and knew just what to do.

Waiting patiently for Daddy to light the candles.

This one's just cute. I had to include it. She's being so patient.

Blowing out the candles. There's one left.

Of course when I say that she knew just what to do I mean blowing the candles out and waiting for the entire head to arrive on her plate. I'm not sure Hannah really understood why she was getting presents and a cake, but she understood that it was her turn and she was going to do things the same way Ben and Sarah had. She waited very patiently for Daddy to light the candles and then for us to sing to her. It's nice having the youngest one with the last birthday, that way she knows just what's going to happen.

Eating the poor bears head.

Everyone enjoying various body parts of the teddy bear.

This was the first birthday so far that we've actually had ice cream. I kept forgetting to buy it for the others birthday's, but luckily this time Daddy remembered. The ice cream was a big hit.

I figured Sarah got a picture blowing bubbles so it seemed fair that Ben got a picture eating ice cream.

Hannah's Bubble and Animal Talk

Many have heard that our little Hannah Banana isn't doing much talking. OK to be honest she's not really talking at all. So during her birthday we took some video of her with her bubbles and making a few animal sounds. I thought I'd share with you just how little she does talk. Remember she just turned two and should have may recognizable words by now and also remember that, thanks to her speech therapist Stacy, this is a huge step forward from where she used to be. Even with the lack of talking I think it 's cute and so is she.

Just so you know on the animal sounds she does say are: sheep when asked what a sheep says, she says tiger when she turns to the tiger page, and she says soft when she gets to the bunny. I'm sure, however, that you all got that without me telling you.

Banana's Birthday

Daddy with the two sleepy little girls.

I hope no ones getting sick of reading my birthday blogs. If so, know that this is the last birthday blog you'll have to read until October (that is unless I have a write up about my birthday, but don't count on it. We're pretty birthday'd out.) Hannah Banana turned 2 on Sunday March 16th. It was a glorious day if I do say so myself. Being that it was a Sunday, we couldn't very well take her out to dinner on her birthday, so we took her to Chick-Fil-A the night before. She didn't really choose it, but with it being one of the only places in town with a playland and decided that she'd probably enjoy it, and we were right. She had a ball playing with Ben and Sarah and waving at Mom and Dad.

Hannah opening her first present.

Her actual birthday went the same as most Sunday's. Get up, get the kids ready for church, go to church, come home, eat lunch, take naps. This is were I normally get a little nap, but not today. I was, yes, finishing the cake and wrapping presents. Luckily it was a bright and sunny day which helped me not miss my nap as much. Hannah had been extra grumpy that day and when she woke up from her nap the grumpiness showed even more. Hannah, Grace, and I have been rotating through a cold for about a month now. When one gets over it another gets it and the cycle just keeps going. I could tell it was Hannah's turn for the cold and she just wasn't feeling herself. Ben and Sarah were so disappointed when Hannah woke up from naps and didn't want to do anything but sit on Daddy's lap and whine. Luckily while sitting she looked over and saw a hidden present and that helped move things along.

Blowing bubbles!

Hannah's birthday centered around bubbles and sand. She got some bubbles (she absolutely loves bubbles) from Gracie, a big purple ball from Sarah, a Baby Einstein movie and animal book from Ben, and some miny cars from Mom and Dad. With all those toys all she wanted to do was play with the bubble and that's all she's really wanted to do since. Hey, I'm all for it. Bubbles are super cheap.

Popping Sarah's bubbles!

After we had had enough bubbles we moved to the kitchen where she discovered her sand and water toy that Kenny and I gave her. As I said earlier, it was nice and sunny outside, but that didn't mean it was warm or that the wind wasn't blowing. Because of this we had to bring the toy inside in order to let the kids play with it. They had a blast! Hannah loves sand and when Daddy added water to it the sand began to mold. There was sand everywhere, there were also smiles everywhere.

Playing with Ben in the 'green' sand!

All in all I think it was a great 2 year old birthday. Despite her sickness, runny nose and slight grumpiness Hannah managed to have fun and that's all that really matters.

Daddy added water and everyone's making castles.

Sarah Kate's Birthday Blogs

So, just like Ben's birthday I'm really slow getting Sarah's birthday blog done, but it's finally all here and done. Too bad it's one day after Hannah's birthday and I'm already behind on hers. Anyway, it's best read like Ben's from the bottom up. Start with Sarah Kate Turns 6 and read up from there. I hope you enjoy and I'm not planning on being sick this week so hopefully I'll get Hannah's done before Easter. :)

The Tink Cake

Tinkerbell! One of my best so far I must say.

Tinkerbell was the cake of choice this year for Sarah. Sarah has developed an interest in fairy recently and I thought the cake looked a lot easier than Ariel so Tinkerbell is what we went with. She really liked it and helped me place all 6 candles in Tinkerbell's ponytail.

Blowing out the candles.

Of course Sarah had to have the whole head like Ben did with Spiderman. What crazy kids we have. This time, however, the kids decided to just forgo the forks all together. Oh to be a kid again.
Decapitated Tinkerbell.

This is actually a picture of Sarah Kate eating her cake nicely. I missed her devouring it.

I may have missed her devouring her cake, but I didn't miss the cake up the nose that came while devouring.

Ben needing no silverware for his piece. Ben got the ponytail which was second in coolness only to the face.

After watching the others Hannah decided to stop picking up her cake and just go for it like her older and much wiser siblings.

Gracie looking on as she bounced nearby. The only thing Gracie got to enjoy on her face was slobber from her new tooth.

Sarah's Family Party

I had to put in the heading that this was a family party and not a friend party, because it was very disappointing to Sarah Kate. You see, we only have friend parties every other year starting with the 5th birthday and so for Sarah Kate this was an off year. It was very, very disappointing to her, but I think she managed to have fun anyway. We met Daddy down at 'Pizza Buffet' (really called CiCi's Pizza) after work for Sarah Kate's birthday dinner. (Sarah wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese's, but being a school night there wasn't time for that and a party, Shucks!) 'Pizza Buffet' happens to be one of the kids favorite places to eat and on most weeknights it's a very nice place to eat, weekends are a little crowded. This particular night happened to be fundraiser night for one of the local elementary school so the place was packed. We still found a seat and managed to have a good time.

Sarah Kate amazed with her Barbie movies.

After dinner we came home to open presents and have cake. We played the hide the presents game with Sarah, just like we did with Ben, only Sarah's were hidden a little harder. She loved finding them all and then being able to open them all. I must say that after all the running around I did, I do think Sarah Kate did well on her birthday presents and that she enjoyed them. Let's see, Sarah Kate got a soccer goal from Ben, a pink soccer ball from Hannah, 2 Barbie movies from Gracie (it's nice to discover things years after they were first big because you can get them so much cheaper) and some Disney figurines and a microscope from Mom and Dad.

Playing with her soccer goal.

Sarah Kate loves Princess' and Barbie, but has never really been into playing with dolls and barbies. I think she likes the idea of them more than actually playing them. Along with that she has recently decided that instead of wanting to be a firefighter when she grows up (that's what she has wanted to be since she was about 2) she now wants to be a scientist. For this reason we thought she might like a microscope, and we were right. It has been a lot of fun for Sarah Kate, and for Daddy as well. We've looked at blood (thanks to Daddy's finger) water from a nearby stream (yuck), bugs and other things we could find. It's fun having a little scientist in the family and watching her get so excited and ask so many questions. I need to catch up on my science.

Sarah Kate's other big gift was a bike. She got her other bike when she was 3 and has really outgrown it so we thought it was time for a new, bigger one. Kenny got the great idea of hiding it in the bathroom and after all the presents were opened and played with we told Sarah she needed to go potty. We haven't had to tell her to go potty in years so she was a little confused, but when she finally obeyed and opened the door she was sooooo surprised. She never thought she'd find a bike in the bathroom. She road it around the house a little until we were able to get the cake ready for her. What a great party.

Sarah Kate Turns 6

Sarah Kate getting off the bus on her birthday. She had a wonderful day and was so proud of her Happy Birthday crown.
Our second kid birthday of the birthday season has come and gone. Sarah Kate turned 6 on Wednesday the 5th. It was a very anticipated birthday and hopefully it lived up to all the excitement. This was the first year we've had a school kid celebrate a birthday and being a Wednesday Sarah Kate was, of course, in school. Her day started out like most other days. She got up a little earlier than normal, out of excitement I believe, and was very cooperative which resulted in her getting ready very quickly. I had decided to make cupcakes and take them to her school to share with all her friends and, though we had made the cupcakes the night before, we decided to frost them the morning of her birthday. Luckily we had enough time and I just had to do some touch up work after Sarah Kate got on the bus.
While Sarah Kate was at school my day consisted of running to a bunch of different stores looking for presents. Due to sick kids and a workshop for Kenny that tied him up the whole weekend prior to her birthday, we weren't able to do a lot of birthday shopping for her. The items I bought the day before her birthday were not approved by Daddy as something he thought she would enjoy (I agreed with him on some of these off items) so I was left to hurry and find something for her on her birthday. After that I came home and put the kids down for a short nap while I worked on her cake some more. Yes, I did say work on her cake. That does mean that I didn't have her cake ready to go before her birthday like I had talked about doing on Ben's birthday, but in all fairness I didn't find out I was going shopping on her birthday until about 11:00 the night before and I had originally thought I had the whole day to finish it. Anyhoo, after the kids short nap I took them to a friends house while I went to the school for snack time.

Sarah Kate had already had a great day at school and she was so excited to see me there. When I arrived the class was in the middle of making lions as an art project, and I got to watch her finish. She, of course, wanted to show me everything she was doing, make me sit by her, and re-introduce me to all her friends. She felt very special.

Sarah Kate in the middle of making her lion.

When the lion making was over Sarah Kate helped me pass out the cupcakes. She walked around to every table and specially choose which kid got which cupcake. I didn't know passing out cupcakes could take so long and be so thought provoking. That's my Sarah Kate though. She's very particular in the things she does. The kids ate their cupcakes and I got many complements on how yummy the strawberry frosting was. Buying strawberry frosting was so hard after all. :)Strawberries are Sarah Kate's favorite and apparently the other kids in her class like them as well. After snack time I got to watch the kids play outside for recess. It was fun to watch Sarah play with all her friends. She is such a leader and it seemed everyone wanted to play with her and be her friend. I think some of that had to do with the fact that it was her birthday, but I also think it had to do with the fact that she's Sarah Kate. She was very fun to watch, but we may have to work on being a leader without being bossy. That's something that's hard to grasp for a kindergartner.

The kids playing outside at recess. Sarah Kate's in the middle of all the action.

I left in the middle of recess in order to have enough time to go get the little kids, do a little more work on the cake, and still make it to the bus stop in time to pick her up. Our first experience with a school age birthday was a success and Sarah LOVED having Mom come and make a big deal out of her special day.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Mom and Dad, you'll appreciate this!

Kenny and I had just finished watching last weeks 'Lost', we have a goal to watch a recorded show no later than the day before the next new one airs, that way we don't get too behind. Anyhoo, we heard a door open quickly and little feet come running down the stairs. Sarah Kate was standing at the first landing with her blanket. She said "Dad, here's another one" holding up her blanket. Kenny said "What? Another what?" Sarah said, "Another blanket, for your games." Of course, what were we thinking! By this time I had figured out what was going on, the complete lack of sense explained it all, but Kenny asked her what she was talking about. She just stood there with a look of confusion on her face. It was quite entertaining.

When I was little I was the queen of sleepwalking. On a trip to Lake Powell once my parents caught my cousin Daniel and I conversing in our sleep trying help each other find the bathroom. We had one of those rooms connected with a door and apparently we managed to combine our sleepwalking dreams together. A different time I even took a shower, fully clothed, in the middle of the night trying to wash the makeup out of my hair. Let me tell you, that's not a fun way to wake up from a dream. It's nice to know I can at least pass something on to my children.

Sarah was really lost when she came to and was confused as to why she was on the stairs. We hugged her and talked a little bit about what a weird feeling it is to wake up from a dream that seemed so real, only it wasn't. Kenny then took her back up to her bed. She's talked a little in her sleep before, but never walked. It was cute, but I must say that I hope she's not plagued with this for too long.

Hannah Needs A Friend!

Any takers?

Hannah Beth very much likes her brother and sisters. Being the third kid she's not real used to being alone and recently that has carried over to sleeping. For awhile now we've been catching her in bed with Sarah Kate. We much prefer this to being woken up to her trying to get in bed with us. Sarah Kate sleeps right through it. Anyway, Hannah will wake up in the night and, it's our theory that she doesn't like to be in her room alone so she gets in bed with Sarah. These pictures were taken on Monday February 25th (I'm a little slow getting this written.) It was about 9:30 when I heard Hannah's door open and then Ben and Sarah's door. I decided to just let it slide and check on them later. About 20 minutes later I headed upstairs to find Ben and Sarah's door open. When I went inside I found two cute little bottoms poking out at me.

I thought it was so cute that I had to call Kenny to come see and then take a picture. Kenny rearranged them so they were more comfortable. About an hour later, when I was going to bed, I went to check on them again. Sarah Kate had snuggled up to Hannah. What a good big sister.

Since then we have begun putting Gracie her crib in Hannah's room. She doesn't leave to sleep with Sarah anymore, which is kind of sad, but at the same time hopefully it'll keep her out of our room as well. First we have to get her feeling better so she can sleep through the night again. Darn colds, they seem to last forever.

Sarah Kate's Karate Video

Good news! We finally figured out why our computer wasn't recognizing our video camera. Don't worry, I won't bore you with the details. Most importantly this mean that I can start adding videos to my blog. YEAH!!! I realize Sarah Kate's karate test was clear back in the beginning of February, but I wanted to show her breaking her board anyway. She tried so hard and did such a good job.

There's a friend in our ward whose son is a belt higher than Sarah Kate. He was there watching his son and we did a camera swap that worked out quite well. While one of us was holding their child's board the other was running their camera. It was nice to be able to hold the board for Sarah and still know it was getting recorded. She's sure grown up since the last video I posted, hu!
