Bingham Copper MIne

Standing at the over look of the Bingham Copper Mine.
The month of May was free admittance to the Bingham Copper Mines and I decided to take advantage of it after all it did save us a hole $5.00. The kids were in desperate need of a field trip and I figured this would be a fun little adventure for us.  The copper mines are one of 2 man made wonders you can see from space (the other is the Great Wall of China) and, having never been there, I thought it would be interesting to see what it was all about.  The hole in the ground is HUGE and the kids enjoyed looking at all of the large trucks that looked so little.  We went to the visitor center and the gift shop and had a lot of fun.

Looking down into the mine.  Those dots are vehicles and their tires are as large as the picture below.

The kids standing by one of the tires of the trucks they use to haul dirt out of the mountainside.
