Around dinnertime on Monday October 15th Kenny got this brilliant idea to make caramel apples. It was Monday night, I didn't have a FHE planned so I said, "Sure, you go buy the stuff and we'll do it." He headed to Walmart and I stayed home and feed the kids. He called me on the way and asked if we should invite his sister. Sure why not. The more the merrier, right? So after dinner, a quick cleanup and a trip to the store we were ready to have a very impromptu Family Home Evening with Nielsen's. It was a blast. We've only done caramel apple once before, many many years ago, so we didn't really know what we were doing, but it turned out pretty good. The kids had a ton of fun and made some great apples, the adults enjoyed visiting and we all made some great memories. I'm thinking we've just created an new fall time tradition.
