Pass Of All Trafalga's

The biggest 4 on the frog hopper (a favorite ride for everyone.)
My sister-in-law Mindy called us in March with a great deal on the Pass of all Passes.  It's a pass that gets you into a local water park (Seven Peaks), an arcade type place (Trafalga) and a number of other things for an entire year.  She was calling to see if anyone wanted to take advantage of this great deal.  The deal was so good my mother-in-law decided to use the pass for the Newbry reunion this year.  We decided it would be a fun thing for our family so we bought one for each of us.
Ben playing mini golf.
They won't be professional golfers, but we had fun.
The water parks don't open until Memorial Day, but we still wanted to use our pass so on March 31st we decided to take the kids to Lehi to visit Trafalga.  It's a small arcade place with a few rides, mini golf, and laser tag.  Some of the outside rides weren't open yet, but the kids still had a blast.  I took Ben and Sarah golfing (they were the only ones who wanted to go) and, we'll just say it was interesting.  Maybe we should let them get a little practice with that.  Kenny took the oldest 3 to do laser tag and they absolutely loved it.  I think that was the highlight of the day for them.  The little kids love the airplanes and the Frog Hopper.  It's definitely not an all day activity, but we stayed for 2 or 3 hours and had a lot of fun.  We're excited to go back in the summer when the other rides open up.

Dan loved the airplanes.

Hannah had fun on the airplanes too and was a good helper for Adam.

All 6 kids on the Frog Hopper.  Man that's a lot of kids.  We only had 1 seat left over after all my kids got on.

Adam's favorite ride was the Frog Hopper.  Can you tell?

Dan liked it too.  Especially when he was sitting next to Ben.

Hannah's Friend Party

Hannah's birthday party with all her friends (and Dan's head.)

When our kids enter kindergarten it they are allowed to have their first friend birthday party.  Hannah has been waiting for years for this day and finally she was able to have her friends over for a birthday party.  She invited a few friends from her old school class and few friends from church.  6 kids in all showed up and we had a great birthday party for a great kid.

We had an obsital course in the back yard, popped balloons with the dart guns, ate pizza and cake and ice cream, opened presents, and had an Easter Egg hunt.  It was so much fun and I'm so glad she enjoyed her party so much.  I didn't take many pictures, but here are a few of the good ones.

JJ who is, apparently, the coolest boy ever.
Hannah and Cami (Hannah's best friend from school.)
Of course we had to invite Cadence.  These two are best cousins.
Hannah and Bri (our next door neighbor.)
Makaia and Hannah (a friend from school)
Miley and Hannah (Hannah's best friend at church)

I was planning on making cupcakes for Hannah's party, but because of her disappointment with her birthday cake and because she tried so hard to be nice about it, I decided to make her the castle cake she really wanted.  She was very happy and loved showing her friends her correct castle cake.  :)

The correct castle cake.

The Wrong Castle Cake

The horrible, very disappointing castle cake.
For the past 3 years Hannah has wanted one cake and one cake only, the castle cake.  This year she wanted another castle cake and I thought I'd make her a different kind of castle cake.  Now, in all fairness, it turned out better in my head than on the actual cake, but still.  When she saw what castle cake I had made for her she was so disappointed.  She tried so hard to be thankful, but you could tell she was very disappointed.  At one point she said it looked like a wedding cake not a castle cake.  Lesson learned.  When Hannah asks for another castle cake, I need to make sure and make her the correct castle cake.

Even if the look of the cake was a disappointment, the cake itself was very yummy.  Of course, the little kids had to make a mess of themselves.  A great time was had by everyone and the youngest for got very mess.  This led to bath time and . . .
Hannah wanted the middle of the cake so she got the entire middle of the cake. :)

Adam REALLY enjoyed the cake.
All 6 kids enjoying some cake and ice cream.

Gracie got a little messy also.  Isn't this the type of thing that makes being a kid so much fun and so memorable?
Bath time.  When the kids got all done eating cake it was time to get in the bath tub.  Kenny put Adam in first and when Hannah and Gracie came in asking if they could get in, Kenny went ahead and put them in.  Clothes and all.  They were so shocked.  It was really funny.

Hannah, a little surprised after daddy up her in the bath tub with her clothes on.

They quickly got over their shock and thought it was really funny.

Hannah's Birthday

Hannah on her 6th birthday

My little Hannah Beth turned 6 on March 16th.  I can't believe how quickly time is going.  We had a little family party for her where she opened presents and we had cake.  It was simple, but we knew her friend party was on the 24th  so we kept the family party simple.

Hannah loves to play Lego's with Ben (when he lets her) so we got her some of the new girl Lego's.  She LOVED them.
She got a Littlest Pet Shop animal.

She got an aircraft carrier for all their air planes.

Dan really liked the airplanes.
A cute picture of Gracie and I.

We've decided we're going to do a lot of camping this summer so we got Hannah a tent that goes with her doll house.

Hannah Biking

Riding her bike by herself with daddy running beside her.

Last summer was a little crazy and being that we were moving and didn't have a house (or most of our stuff) we never got around to teaching Hannah to ride a two wheeler.  After buying her a nice new bike that does not have training wheels, we decided March would be the perfect time to teach her.  On March 9th, Kenny took her out to work with her while I finished dinner.  She was a little scared and got a little frustrated because of it (so did daddy.)  They came in to eat and after dinner I took a turn.  She was still scared, but I had more time to work with her and after about 20 minutes she was riding her bike on her own.  She did such a good job.  After her first bike ride, she got scared again and wouldn't ride on her own.  It took some time and patients, but we got her back on her bike and riding. She's still working on starting and stopping, but she did such a great job.  She has ridden her bike to Aunt April's a few time and she even rode up and down the Provo Canyon on her own.  An 8 miles trip that she did wonderful on.

Here's a video I took of Hannah on my phone.  Not the best quality, but it works.

Disney On Ice

The kids and I after the show.  (Dan was a little freaked out by the ice.)

Back in February I heard about a way to get free tickets to Disney on Ice.  We had to go downtown and donate a children's book that was going to be going to the homeless shelters in town.  Everyone who wanted a ticket had to be present which worked out fine for us because we had just started homeschooling.  We pushed our homeschooling back to the afternoon and headed downtown to the Energy Solutions Arena to get our tickets.  Kenny had no interest in going (He has this thing against ice skating) so I figured I'd leave Adam home with him.  I knew if I got Adam a ticket we'd have an extra one so I called my mom on the drive to see if she'd want to take the extra ticket.  She wanted to and I was happy to have some help.  Just as I was parking I thought of my sister in laws.  April had just had a baby the week before, but I knew it was something Mindy would be interested in.  I called her as we walked to stand in line.  She was just loading the kids in the car to go to the store, but decided free Disney On Ice tickets was more important, so she hurried over and waited in line with me.  We ended up getting 12 tickets between the two of us.  We called to see how old you have to be to require a ticket and found out the 2 and under were free.  Mindy was leaving her baby Tate with her in-laws which meant Daniel, and Landon and Lilly were free.  That left us with 3 extra tickets.  I called April to see if they wanted them, but they were going to be out of town.  I called Karen and she decided it would be fun to bring Missi and Alli.  We were so exctied to have the tickets taken and to have Karen and girls there.

The night of the show we all met at the food court at the Gateway.  We had dinner and then I sent Kenny home with Adam and the rest of us headed to the show.  We stopped for a few pictures and then just before the show started we found our seats.  Our seats were amazing.  I figured free seats would be on the side, way up high, but our tickets were front and center, just a few rows up.  It was perfect.  When we found our seats as the lights were starting to dim.  Mickey and Minnie Mouse came out on their skates and Daniel started to freak out. My first thought was that it was going to be a LONG night, but luckily he settled down once he realized they were going to stay on the ice. I think he thought they were going to come get him and he was not at all okay with that.

Gracie and Grandma enjoying the show.  We're so glad Grandma was able to come.

Dan loves Buzz and Woody and he loved the show.

Sarah and Missi had a lot of fun together.  We're so glad Karen and the girls could come down.
I've never been to a Disney On Ice before but both Karen and Mindy have been to a few.  They said this was the best one they've been to.  It was quite enjoyable and the kids we so good.  I'm really glad I chose to leave Adam home (I think he was a little too young to stay seated that long) and I'm really, really glad I found out about the free tickets.  It was such a fun night that was totally unexpected.  Free stuff is the greatest.  :)

Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear
Grandma got the kids all a toy.
Ben got a Buzz hand, Sarah got a Jessie cup with a shave ice in it, and the other three got hats.

We got home after Adam had gone to bed.  The following morning he discovered his siblings toys from the night before.  He was not at all willing to share them.  I guess it's only fair he play with them of a little while considering he didn't get to go.
