Playing With The Bunnies
Little boys playing with bunnies is so cute. Especially this little boy. I uploaded the wrong video and now blogger won't let me upload the correct one which is really annoying. Luckily this one is still cute, just not as cute as the other one.

Monkey Cake For the Little Monkey
Ahhh Cake! Need I say more? Adam got a monkey cake this year and he loved it. Daddy let him put his own candles on and he even got to help light them. It was lots of fun for him. I can't believe he's getting so big. In ways it's nice to have my kids all getting bigger, but it's all happening so fast. I'm excited for all the years we have ahead of us with this fun little guy.

Happy Birthday Little Man |
August 19th was a very busy day. Not only was it the first day of school for the oldest 4, but it was also Adam's 3rd birthday. I can't believe how quickly this little guy is growing up. I dropped the boys off at my sister in laws while I spent the morning at the school getting to know the kids teachers and stuff. It wasn't the perfect start to a birthday, but it had to be done. Adam had a late nap because of all we had to do in the morning and when he woke up we had a little party for him. He got to open presents, have some cake and then we went to the park to fly kites. It was a great day for a birthday.

Ben got Adam a Skylander for his birthday. He bought it with his own money and he was so excited for Adam to get it. He wanted to put it on his pillow for him. It was very sweet and Adam loved it. |

Chatting With Adam
I took the kids to the park near our house one day in August. It was really windy out and Adam was afraid that the wind was going to hurt us. The kids were having so much fun playing with all their friends that I didn't want to make them stop playing yet. I decided the best way to distract him was my phone, so I took a video of him. This boy is so stinking cute.

Boys Picnic
My 3 cute boys.
|
Picnics had become the thing to do around here when summer hit. The little girls loved to take their blankets out on the deck and eat a snack. On June 5th they had left their blanket outside and as the sun was going down behind the house, I was cooking dinner and really just wanting a little peace and quite. Ben, my very awesome and helpful boy, noticed mommy was a little stressed and took it upon himself to take the little boys outside for a picnic on the blanket that Gracie had forgotten to put away. The little boys loved their picnic time with their big brother Ben and once again Ben surprised me with his willingness to be helpful without being asked. He is an amazing boy and I am one lucky mommy.

Helping Daddy Build
Daddy found some old pallets of wood at a nearby business. He checked with them and they were find with us taking them home so he's been busy building bike ramps for the kids to ride on. In March, our back yard was full of old pallets that Kenny and the big kids were taking apart and putting back together to for big bike ramps. The little boys wanted in on the action too and had fun hammering the wood and nails.

Just Chilling
I caught Adam chilling on the couch one morning watching Backyardigains. We love Backyardigains and I love watching my little guy just chill. I thought I'd grab the camera and snap a few pictures of him. He's one of my kids who doesn't like to spend too much time in front of the TV, unlike his just older than him brother, so images like this are rare. He sure is getting big quickly.

Fixing The Trailer
We bought our little trailer 4 1/2 years ago and it has been very useful for us. Our van has such a small back that if we go pretty much anywhere we need to take the trailer to carry our stuff. Kenny built some sides and a roof for it when we bought it, but over the years they've seen some wear. He decided that before he put the trailer away after we went to pick up our Christmas tree, he was going to fix the trailer sides. On December 8th he pulled the car out of the garage and went to work on the trailer. The little boys found him in the garage and wanted to help. It took him probably double the amount of time, but Kenny got the trailer done and did a great job of letting the little boys 'help' in the process. They had so much fun working with their Daddy.

Cute Little Sad Face

Look at the super cute sad face. |
Rearranging Rooms
Daniel was having a hard time going to sleep in early November For some reason he was terrified of everything Scared of monsters, the dark, anything. We added a second nightlight to the room he shares with Adam, but it didn't seem to work. He would stay up forever, scared in his room, keeping Adam awake. One night we went in and found the boys both in Daniel's bed. We went ahead and moved Adams pillow and blanket in the same bed as Daniel and both boys were quickly asleep. It was at that time we decided to rearrange their room. Instead of having their bed on opposite sides of the room with a changing table in the middle, we moved things around and put their beds together. It's kind of inconvenient and makes the room not as open, but it has helped Daniel sleep. He hasn't had a problem falling asleep since we moved the bed, well unless he's just being a stinker. I'm so glad these little boys have each other. I hope they know how lucky they are.

Sometimes being a parent is the best! |
Since the big kids went back to school I've been able to spend more time with the littlest 3. I have to admit it's been really nice. Gracie has done a wonderful job being the big sister and the boys have really enjoyed playing with her. On November 6th I had just made lunch and stepped away for a few minutes. When I got back I found the 3 of them on the deck with their food having some kind of conversation It was so cute, so I took a picture.

Fun With Toothpaste
![]() |
Adam showing off his messy hands. |
Adam found Sarah's toothpaste in her bathroom downstairs in mid September and sat downstairs by the TV and quietly played with it while I did schoolwork upstairs with the big kids. He had a lot of fun. Adam really likes toothpaste. Apparently so does the floor by the TV and up the stairs and the couch and the walls. To say the least, we had to go rent a Rug Doctor to clean up the toothpaste all over the floor and couch. I guess I should thank Adam for making me clean our dirty carpets. Thanks Adam.! :)

Adam's Cake
In true Newbry fashion, we had no time on Adam's birthday to eat cake so the next day we had another family party and ate cake. Adam loved it and the kids made messes and memories like every time. Man I love my little family.
My Baby's 2
Adam turned 2 of August 19th. I can't believe where the time has gone. He is such a fun little energetic boy who adds so much love to our family. He loves his siblings and plays so well with them. He's my smiley, goofball who is full of adventure and excitement. His best friend would have to be Dan at this point. Those two boys do everything together. They fight sometimes, being that they are so close in age and so young, but they love each other and being together too. Adam's become somewhat of a mamma's boy, which I love and which is different than he was last year. He'll eat anything you put in front of him from broccoli to candy and his big chunkiness proves it (even though he is beginning to thin out.) We sure love having him around.
His birthday was on a Sunday so after church we napped the kids and then had a little party for him. He opened presents and then we headed up the canyon for a cookout with cousins.

Cooling Off
This summer was really hot. Not only did it seem hotter than normal, but it was our first summer away from Idaho Falls and Salt Lake summers are always warmer than Idaho Falls summers. We spent a lot of time at Seen Peaks, a lot of time indoors and the kids loved playing with the water outside. On July 3rd Adam decided to find another way to keep cool. He made his own little cooler. That boy LOVES water. Can you tell?

The Burn Clinic
We had to wait the entire weekend before we could get Adam into the burn clinic. It was not at all fun for us or for poor little Adam, but I'm glad his burn wasn't bad enough that he had to be seen right away. We did end up taking him to UofU hospital to get his bandages changed on Sunday. The little stinker wouldn't keep his bandage on and we had run out of the wrapping stuff that the hospital gave us the night he got burned. The bandage the hospital put on him lasted until we could get to the burn clinic first thing Monday morning.
Kenny took the morning off of work to be with us at the burn clinic. It was a quick trip and we learned that, even though it looked really bad to us, his burn could have been a lot worse. The doctors took the dead skin off from around the burns, bandaged him up with a much less bulky bandage and sent us on our way. We didn't even have to return for a follow up. Needless to say, we were feeling very blessed. The doctors told us they'd never seen a kids step in a fire pit of hot coals and have such little damage. It's been a few months and his foot is as good as new. If you look close you can see the scars, but those should go away with time. The scar on his arm is still there, but it too shouldn't last forever. We were very blessed and are so grateful that someone was looking out for Adam that night.

Stepping in a Firepit

A picture we took on Kenny's phone at the hospital. What a brave boy. |
The weekend of June 23rd we were headed to Grace to do some more work on my in-laws pond. We decided to make a stop on Friday night in Smithfield at Kenny's friend Andy's house. His brother, another childhood friend of Kenny's, was in town from St. Louis and we haven't seen them in years. They were getting together at Andy's that night and called to see if we wanted to join them. It was a very fun evening. We had pizza, swam in the neighbors pool, and then started a fire in the fire pit. The kids played and the dad's decided to go on a bike ride up the canyon. It was getting late, it was getting dark and I kept thinking to myself that I really should take the kids to my mom's house to sleep. It's what we agreed on earlier in the day, but the kids were having so much fun and it's not everyday they get to stay up and play with new friends. Instead, we stuck around waiting for daddy to get back. I was holding Dan near the fire pit, talking to Amy, Andy's wife, when Adam came walking over. I watched him walk near the fire pit and then it happened, in slow motion almost. He stepped a little too close and his left foot slipped off the rim of the fire pit and down into the hot coals. He then fell forward landing with his arm on the rim of the fire pit. I put Dan down as quick as I could and Amy and I both ran to Adam. I scooped him up and we immediately ran into the house. After less than a minute of running his foot under cold water I knew we needed to take Adam to the hospital. We gave him some medicine and started getting some ice for the trip when Kenny pulled up. He jumped into action and within a few minutes we were in the car and headed to the hospital. We took Dan with us because he was scared to death, but left the other kids at Andy's house.
We chose to go to the Specialty Hospital instead of the Logan Regional Hospital and we were very glad we did. We were the only ones there, they took us back as soon as we arrived, and they were all very nice. They gave Adam some more medicine for the pain and put special burn ointment on his foot. They called the burn unit in Salt Lake at UofU hospital and told us that we would need to get him into the burn clinic. I called my mom and had her come get Daniel and told her I'd call when we left the hospital. We stuck around for awhile waiting for the medicine to work. After about an hour they wrapped up Adam's foot and sent us home with what we would need to change his bandage over the weekend.

The morning after. His arm and foot are still bandaged up from the hospital. |
My poor little baby was so brave. He is definitely a strong little guy. He cried and cried and my heart ached for him, but he was so good and cooperative at the same time. We took turns holding him, waiting for the medicine to work and he ate suckers and was content to just be held. When we were finally able to go, he was still sad and in pain, but a little of the normal Adam showed through when he waved at everyone and said bye and thank you. I'm so amazed at what strength my little kids have.

Still able to smile even though he hurts. |
After the hospital we went back to Andy's to pick up the other kids. We decided to go to Grace and help with the pond because we were told Adam needed to go to the burn clinic the next day. We originally decided to stay at my parents house that night and head back to Salt Lake early in the morning. When we arrived to pick up Dan we had changed our minds and decided to just head home that night. We got home around 2:00, put the kids in bed, only to find out early in the morning that the burn clinic couldn't see him until Monday.
